Impact Hub Hosts LEO Event “Introduction to Self Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities”

We were delighted when Local Enterprise Office, Cork City asked to host their “Introduction to Self Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities” event in The Impact Hub as part of  Local Enterprise Week with our friends over at Crann.

The event featured a diverse lineup of speakers who captivated the audience with their inspiring stories. Sean O’Mahony The Autistic Baker, Sadhbh Warren founder of Red Rock Writing and Kate Gaffney founder of SuperStars Stage School, shared their experiences of starting up a business with a disability and how they let nothing get in the way of their passions.

Veronica Murphy and Dermot Crosby then provided valuable insights into the grants available for startup businesses, along with the services and resources offered by the Local Enterprise Office, including mentorship and assistance.

Paddy Smyth, an Ambassador and Brand Collaborator, concluded the event by sharing his experiences as a self-employed individual. Paddy, known for his impactful and hilarious content on social media, emphasized that his disability doesn’t limit what he can do and that “it’s cool to be diverse.”

We’re extremely grateful to be able to offer the hub for important and insightful events like this.
